When the closure of Morris & James was announced, the response was much bigger than we expected. The volume of messages, the conversations in the showroom, and the personal stories shared made one thing clear: this wasn’t just about the pottery. Morris & James had become part of our lives in quiet, everyday ways -  through homes, gardens, gifts, and regular visits to the showroom. In the end, it wasn’t about one individual or even one era. It was about what the pottery represented, and the memories.

The Clay That Connects Us will be a limited-edition Morris & James coffee table book that is built from your stories. Rather than retelling the pottery’s history from the inside, this book captures it from the outside - through the people who found joy in the pottery, lived with it, and passed it on.

The final section of the book will include the most recent Morris & James production catalogue. Printed with the current prices, it will serve as a long-term reference for collectors and archive of designs that  are no longer being produced.

Together, your stories will form a collective record of what Morris & James means to all of us.
