Morris & James
Memory Lane

The Next Chapter.

When the pottery closed, much was uncertain. What remained was a community, and a passion that was never going to fade.

Greater than the pottery.

The passion for Morris & James is hard to explain and easy to feel. A pot by the door, a flash of colour in the garden, a reason to pause in a busy day. Morris & James moves us in ways we don’t always expect, and it keeps calling us back. So we’ve made a space to gather, share and keep that magic alive.

Community stories spread from The Clay That Connects Us
The first step

The Clay That Connects Us.

Upon closing, our first step was a commemorative book, filled with heartfelt stories about what the pottery means to all of us. The book also funded this website, so generations to come can live the stories behind each piece.

A printed book needs high-resolution photography and a deadline. But we still had so much more to share, including photos and scans that were never quite print-ready, or came in after the book project was finalised.

A place to come back to.

Long-serving staff Kieran Rice, Deb McKerr and Amanda Penton look after this new digital home of Morris & James: a celebration of colour, community and connection. Together they bring continuity and experience as they document the next phase of Morris & James and support our buy and sell group.
